For only the third time in more than thirty years, Goodwill Industries of San Joaquin Valley is welcoming a new President & CEO.

Effective June 16, 2017, Denise Ost, who has served the agency in a number of key leadership roles, including COO for the past thirteen years, has been selected by the agency’s Board of Directors to replace David L. Miller.

After fourteen years at the helm of the Stockton-based agency, Miller is heading to Harrisburg, Pa. to assume leadership of the Keystone Goodwill.

Goodwill Board Chair, Kelly C. Amato, cites Goodwill’s strategic succession planning as a key contributor to the seamless leadership transition. Although Miller’s departure date was unplanned, Denise Ost’s readiness for the top spot was a matter of experience and methodical training. Ms. Ost attended local schools, graduated with a B.S. from CSU Fresno and has completed additional MBA coursework and leadership training.

“I look forward to meeting the challenges of leading a multi-faceted organization that includes seventeen retail outlets, two distribution centers, work contracts with federal government agencies and provides job services for people who want to improve their lives through employment”
- Ms. Ost.
