San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD), StocktonCon Events, LTD., and Utility Telecom, the organizers of the StocktonCon event, have entered into a co-marketing agreement.

A key benefit of the joint venture is that costumed attendees will be able to ride to StocktonCon on RTD buses for free, the weekend of the event.

The event will be held at the Stockton Arena on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20, 2017.  The goal of StocktonCon is to raise awareness of outstanding artists in the San Joaquin Valley area and to give attendees the chance to experience a wide variety of popular culture including comics, card games, video games, anime, manga, science fiction, toys, television and movies.  There will be a costume contest, art show, pop-culture celebrity signings, video game tournaments, and wrestling competitions.  About 8,000 people are estimated to attend StocktonCon this year.

Guests can get to the arena on RTD Route 40, with bus stops right by the Stockton Arena.  RTD route 44 brings guests from South Stockton to the Downtown Transit Center where they may connect with Route 40.  Those staying at hotels near March Lane and Interstate 5 may use RTD Route 745 to connect with route 40 at the Mall Transfer Station and proceed from there to the event.

“We at StocktonCon, presented by Utility Telecom, are proud to announce a new partnership with the San Joaquin Regional Transit District,” said StocktonCon Events President, Mike Millerick.  “Artie D., the RTD mascot, will be at StocktonCon to meet fans and take photos.”

RTD and StocktonCon will exchange ad space, with RTD advertising in the program, and StocktonCon advertising on a bus.  The event and free rides for costumed guests will be promoted in a variety of media.

“We are very excited to participate in such a fun event for our community and visitors from out of town.  RTD will transport you to StocktonCon safely, swiftly, and economically whether you are a super hero, or an everyday citizen.” said RTD Chief Executive Officer, Donna DeMartino, “Everyone at RTD is thrilled to work with our friends at StocktonCon to make big dreams come true.  This joyful event is one more of “The Places You Can Go on RTD!”
