The latest show at SCT, LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE, written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron and directed by Judy Caruso Williamson, is a treasure.  The 90-minute, (no intermission) show is truly a tour de force for the cast of nine astoundingly marvelous female actors.

Director, Williamson’s casting could not have been better.  The ensemble piece with each actor playing many different characters, all of which are perfect, includes Melissa Esau, Rhonda Cummings, Leanita Taylor, Cindy Braden, Nina Thiel, Nikki Pendley, Dahlia Vocque and Sherry Dumos and Dani Loera.

Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, the story encompasses the many passages women sometimes endure but always survive and generally enjoy in a lifetime.  Through youth, middle age, and maturity, the actors switch roles as easily as they change costume pieces to create the perfect image for each scene.

Williamson, the drama instructor at Stagg High School for thirty-seven years, choreographed the movement on the set which she designed flawlessly.  And the Illustrations by George Hong add an artistic touch to the simple set.

To address the talent of even one of the women would be unjust as each of them is fabulous and the harmony they bring forth be it with humor, pathos, and an incredible number of lines, not one of which was missed, would be impossible.

Ladies, one and all, you gave the audience a treat and the audience opening night was duly impressed.

Performances continue March 9, 10th, and 11th 7:30 pm at Stockton Civic Theatre, in the Pam Kitto Black Box Theatre.
