Stockton Holiday Season Community Events in December

The City of Stockton brings the holidays to life with events, food, entertainment, and lots of holiday cheer throughout December. Beginning on Saturday, December 7, 2024, with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Weber Point Events Center, 221 N. Center St. Gates open at 3:00 p.m., and weather permitting, there will be lots of holiday festivities. Don’t miss the tree lighting at 5:30 p.m., which will take place rain or shine.

Aaron Judge, New York Yankee and former Fresno State Bulldog, and founder of the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation is proud to announce the October 2024 ALL RISE Mini-Grant recipients, each receiving $2,500. These three organizations align with the ALL RISE mission to inspire children and youth to become responsible citizens and reach unlimited possibilities.

Stockton Lantern Festival Takes Home GOLD

The Stockton Lantern Festival was awarded Gold for Best New Festival at the prestigious International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) Pinnacle Awards this past week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Additionally, the Stockton Lantern Festival and media partner, Visit Stockton, received gold in five major categories, highlighting the team’s dedication to delivering an extraordinary and memorable event.

Gospel Center Rescue Mission groundbreaking for the beginning of construction on the New Life Program Multi-Purpose Center

The Gospel Center Rescue Mission (GCRM) is excited to begin construction on the New Life Program Multi-Purpose Center, and will celebrate at a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 on the GCRM campus, located at 445 S. San Joaquin Street, Stockton, California. The New Life Program Multi-Purpose Center will be a three-story, 130 bed, 12,400 square foot facility which will include sleeping rooms with one to four beds each, shower rooms, laundry facilities and a classroom area.

First Human Case of West Nile Virus in San Joaquin County in 2024

San Joaquin County Public Health Services has confirmed a West Nile Virus (WNV) infection in San Joaquin County. This is the first confirmed human case in the county for 2024, and the 28th reported human case in California for this year. The 57-year-old male Stockton resident has received medical services at a Sacramento area healthcare facility.
