SMG is pleased to announce the appointment of Kendra Clark as the General Manager of the SMG-managed facilities in Stockton, CA, including the Stockton Arena, Stockton Ballpark, Bob Hope Theatre and Oak Park Ice Arena.

Ms. Clark brings over a decade of experience in a series of advancing positions in the sports and entertainment facility management industry, with tenures at SMG-managed facilities including the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA, and the CenturyLink (formerly CenturyTel) Center in Bossier City, LA.  For the past three years, Kendra has served locally in Stockton as the Director of Sales of Marketing, Assistant General Manager, and Acting General Manager prior to being named the General Manager.

“Kendra’s contributions to the operation of the Stockton facilities, and her interaction with the local community and stakeholders have positioned her well to lead the facilities team there towards many future successes”, said Steve Tadlock, Regional Vice President for SMG.

SMG, the world’s largest venue management company, began working in Stockton in February of 2011.

Clark was selected after a search of candidates both within the company and the facility management industry.  Her extensive experience in the market, positive working relationships with the tenants and event clients, and support from City of Stockton officials made the choice easy.

"Kendra is an excellent choice for SMG General Manager (GM) Stockton.  She has held marketing and management positions in Stockton and at other large entertainment and sports venues.  As interim GM, she has continually demonstrated professionalism and developed effective working relationships. She understands the Stockton market extremely well, and her background in marketing will allow her to build and sustain events and entertainment that will be enjoyed by the community" said Deputy City Manager Laurie Montes.

Since being named the Acting General Manager in June, Clark has overseen the Stockton Arena host San Jose Sharks pre-season hockey, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and a variety of musical concerts.  “It’s an exciting time for the Stockton facilities.  Having lived here for three years, I am proud of the facilities’ growth and I am looking forward to continuing the partnership with the community”, stated Clark.

In addition to her years of experience, Clark, a Central Valley native, earned a Bachelor’s degree in English/Communications and a Minor in Marketing from Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania and is currently a member of the International Association of Venue Managers and the local chapter of Lambda Theta Phi.
