The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forwards Peter Sivak, Michael Pereira and Adam Phillips, along with defensemen Keith Seabrook and goaltender Philippe Trudeau have agreed to one-year, two-way (AHL/ECHL) contracts.
Sivak, 32, spent the past two seasons in North America with the San Francisco Bulls (ECHL), Worcester Sharks (AHL), Alaska Aces (ECHL) and Abbotsford Heat (AHL). A native of Cheb, Czech Republic, Sivak was named to the 2013-14 All-ECHL First Team after tallying 83 points (31 goals, 52 assists) in 67 games. Sivak was a member of the Aces Kelly Cup championship team last season. Prior to arriving in North America, Sivak played 479 games in Slovakia’s top league and 97 games in his native Czech Republic.
Pereira, 22, completed a four-year career with the University of Massachusetts (Hockey East) last season. In 135 games with the Minutemen, Pereira tallied 107 points (53 goals, 54 assists). The West Haven, CT native played three professional games with the Worcester Sharks (AHL) following the conclusion of his senior season in March 2014.
Phillips, 24, played the past four years at UMass from 2011-14. The Farmington Hills, MI native notched 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists) in 124 career NCAA games. Prior to playing for the Minutemen, the 6-6, 206-lbs defenseman played one season (2009-10) for the Indiana Ice of the USHL where he scored 12 points (one goal, 11 assists).
Seabrook, 26, returns to North America after scoring 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) in 18 games for Val Pusteria of the Italian Serie A League in 2012-13. Prior to his time in Europe, the Delta, British Columbia native played 186 games over three seasons in the AHL with the Abbotsford Heat, Manitoba Moose and San Antonio Rampage. During that time, Seabrook tallied 64 points (18 goals, 46 assists). The Washington Capitals originally drafted the 6-0, 198-lbs defenseman in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft.
Trudeau, 20, signs following the conclusion of his Canadian Hockey League career. Since 2010, the Blainville, Quebec native, has dressed for the Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and the Val-d’Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League along with the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League. After the 67’s season concluded, Trudeau played four games for the Sound Tigers in 2014 recording a .897 save percentage and 3.37 goals-against average.
