The legacy of Misty Holt-Singh lives on through her husband Paul’s commitment to helping victims of violent crime and their families. Ten years ago, Misty’s life was tragically taken, leaving Paul and their two children, Mia and Paul Jr., to carry on without her. As they painfully picked up the pieces of their lives, the Singh family was overwhelmed by support, love, and resources from the community.

“Our lives were changed forever when we lost Misty,” Paul Singh shared. “As we grieved this violent and tragic loss in our family, we witnessed our city grieving alongside us, supporting us through the pain. We knew that this was how we would keep Misty’s memory alive, by helping people who are navigating the pain that we unfortunately had to experience.”

In 2014, Paul started the Misty Holt-Singh Memorial Golf Tournament, to raise money to donate to organizations serving victims of violent crimes, or families in need. Over the past nine years, the golf tournament has allowed the Singh family to donate $300,000 in Misty’s honor.

“Most of us remember exactly where we were when Misty’s life was taken ten years ago,” exclaimed Mayor Lincoln. “It was a day we will never forget; a violent tragedy that sent shock and deep sorrow throughout our city. Today, my office is honoring Misty’s life and legacy by contributing $10,000 to the Misty Holt-Singh Memorial Golf Tournament, ensuring Stockton victims and families are supported in their time of need. As we remember and honor Misty, let us continue to unite as a city that supports one another.”
