Annual event brings motivational speaker to "Women Making A Difference" Luncheon

The Stockton Community Council of the United Way of San Joaquin County will be hosting the 15th Annual Power of One – Women Making A Difference Luncheon.  The Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Hilton Stockton.  Doors open at 10:30 am with numerous local non-profit organizations set-up throughout the hotel to inform and educate.  A beautiful lunch will be served at 11:30 am.

Table Sponsorships begin at $600 for a table of ten, plus we offer multiple levels of sponsorship with various benefits for each level of commitment.  Individual tickets are also available for $50.00 per person.

Our Keynote speaker is T. Denise Manning, Author, Public Speaker, Certified Life Coach, Combat Veteran, Forensic Fingerprint & Mortuary Expert, Juvenile Justice Advocate, former Deputy Sheriff and Active Humanitarian.  Denise imagined a future for herself and refused to stop short of her potential.  Learning early that life provides some children with more than an imagination and a potential.  She has overcome hardship and loss to succeed where failure is the easier path.  Raised amid rampant gang violence and poverty in Stockton, she found her way out through inspiration, action and drive.  A story of family upheaval, grief, goal identification and brazen tenacity.  Ms. Manning’s life and worldview is a shining example of what the human spirit can endure and achieve.

In addition to the keynote speaker, the Power of One Committee will be awarding its Twelfth Annual “Community Star” award to Gina Valadez, a member of our community who has demonstrated a passion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of those most in need.

The net proceeds of this event will be donated to United Way’s Community Council projects.  Please do not hesitate to call Donna Ng at (209) 320-6206 to reserve your individual tickets or sponsorship. This will be a sold out event!
